Which day of the week is the most holy day, the Sabbath?

According to the whole Bible, the Sabbath, the most holy day of the week, is on a Saturday from Friday evening when the sun goes down until Saturday evening when the sun goes down.

  1. What did God do to separate the seventh day (the Sabbath) from other days of the week?

Genesis 2:2-3   And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it he rested from all his work, which God had created and made.

  1. When should the seventh day be held as a holy day?

Leviticus 23:32   from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your Sabbath. (This means from Friday evening to Saturday evening).

  1. What is the Sabbath day a reminder of?

Exodus 20:11.   For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

  1. Shall we work on the Sabbath?

Exodus 20:9.10   Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

  1. Was the Sabbath day only given to the Israelite people?

Esaiah 56:6.7.   Also the sons of the foreigner who joins themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants – Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds my covenant – Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer.

  1. Which sign has God given to his people?

Ezekiel 20:12   Moreover I also gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

  1. Did Jesus Christ keep the Sabbath day as a holy day?

Lukas 4:16   So he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

  1. Did the apostle Paul keep the Sabbath as a holy day?

Acts 13:14.15.   Now when Paul and his party set sail from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia; and John, departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Psidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down.

  1. Did the disciples keep the Sabbath as a holy day after the crucifixion?

Lukas 23:54-56.   The day was the Preparation (Friday), and the Sabbath drew on. And the women who had come with him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how his body was laid. Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. (This is the fourth of the Ten Commandments).

  1. When was the Sabbath changed from Saturday to Sunday?

Daniel 7:25   He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and he shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time. (The personal pronoun “He” is referring to the papacy in the Roman Catholic Church. The only law in the Ten Commandments which is related to time is the Sabbath). A time, times and half a time is referring to prophetical time, which is the same as 1,260 years in prophecy. This time is referring to the Dark Middle Ages from 538 A.D. to 1798 A.D.

There is a quote in the Roman Catholic Catechism stating that the Roman Catholic Church is responsible for changing the Sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday. Enclosed is the following quote:
